We run so that our students and clients can run – and play, learn and grow to become great people. Their education is not just the biggest reason we serve, it’s the biggest reason we care! Your support ensure Lasallian Volunteers will continue to be placed in areas of high need across the country. We appreciate your support to help us change the world – one mile, one student and one client at a time.
2018 LVs Run is our 13th annual fundraising effort of its kind!
November 3, 2018 | Warwick, Rhode Island
Lasallian Volunteers, Alums and supporters of the program are running in Rhode Island on November 3, 2018, and it’s up to you to take the next step and invest in them! In 2005, Lasallian Volunteer, Adriana Rodriguez, ran the New York City Marathon and a tradition began. Over a dozen years, countless numbers of Lasallian Volunteers have participated in LVs Run and have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support their experience as LVs and the ministries they serve. The volunteers are lacing up their running shoes and training for the Race by the Bay. We invite you to be part of this effort as a runner or a donor. Generous individuals like you are the foundation of our work and make our mission possible. Raise funds as an individual or with a team, or choose to donate either a general gift or to a specific runner. Your investment continues to have a lasting impact on the lives of the Lasallian Volunteers and their ministries as they work to break the cycle of poverty through education.
About LVs Run
In 2006 when LV Adriana Rodriguez decided to run the NYC Marathon she also thought she’d see if she could raise money for Lasallian Volunteers in the process. A number of current LVs, Staff and her community members found spots along the race sidelines and cheered her on! In many ways, that was year one. Under the guidance of then Coordinator of Recruitment, Seth Whetzel, plans started coming together for LVs and the Chicago Marathon. In 2007, the Lasallian Volunteers organized the first of yearly fundraisers, as LVs Run exists today, around a specific road race to help the fundraising efforts of the program. Since running in Chicago (followed by Philadelphia, Rhode Island, Minnesota, Memphis and Tulsa) over $350,000 has been raised for the Lasallian Volunteers. The races provide the volunteers a place to share their story with friends and family inviting them to participate in the Lasallian Volunteers movement.

Cross Country Adventure to Break the Cycle of Poverty
LVs Ride: This was more than just a bike ride. LVs Ride was an adventure of service and faith, relationship building and fundraising. Inspired by the success of the 2001 Spoke ‘n Word tour — and the work of the Lasallian Volunteers in underserved communities around the country, LVs Ride was born as a way to invite more people into the Lasallian ministry to the poor.
