Lasallian Volunteers serve Marin De Porres School as tutors, recreation and after-school activities coordinators, substitute teachers, and computer instructors for individual students.

The only Catholic High School in the area, La Salle reaches out to one of the most culturally and economically diverse communities in the District of San Francisco.
Many of the families of the rapidly growing Hispanic population are comprised of recent immigrants to the United States who are working in the fields of the Yakima Valley. La Salle is located on the border of the Yakama Tribal Nation.
The native tribes of the West experience the most destitute of circumstances. Unemployment approaches 80% and alcoholism is rampant. While La Salle reaches out to all constituent groups, the school places special emphasis on the poor of the valley. 25% of students are from families below the federal poverty level.
