Instruction is provided free of charge to an average of over 3,000 students annually, through the services of the faculty, sixty Volunteer teachers, tutors, and the students themselves. The center’s success is due to its rich community atmosphere, its religious instruction, its practical courses in other areas, and its emphasis on service to others in need. No Volunteers are currently serving at Centro La Salle this year.
Centro La Salle, located in Tijuana, México, models the heart of the Lasallian Mission - to provide educational opportunities for those without, so that they might free themselves from both ignorance and poverty by enhancing their lives through education. A special focus of Centro La Salle's work is to provide religious education to those who will become catechists and lay ministers in the local Church. Centro is visited throughout the year by students and faculty from various schools in the San Francisco District in the District's "Ven a Ver" ("Come and See") service immersion program.
Serving in Tijuana is an opportunity for second-year Volunteers only.
