Lasallian Volunteers serve The De La Salle School community primarily as activities and sports coordinators, as well as providers of tutoring, teachers, teacher’s aides and a variety of other support services. Former volunteers have also been hired as full time faculty. First year volunteer Colleen Boyette is teaching French, music, and art to grades 5-8. First year volunteer Jorge Mejia is teaching health and starting the graduate support program.

Founded in September 2002, The De La Salle School opened as one of the newest schools founded by the De La Salle Christian Brothers. The De La Salle School is a Catholic school located in Freeport, New York, in the Diocese of Rockville Centre, New York. The school began with an initial fifth grade class and now serves young men in grades 5 through 8.  The De La Salle School proudly celebrated its second graduating class in June of 2007.
