Constant shepherding from 4 LV Alums (Martin Richard, ’05-07, Marilyn Paquette, ’99-01, Ernest Fernandez, ’04-06, and Vicki Kline, ’05-07) with help and visits from 13 more Alums.

Hearty welcome to the Lasallian Family by Br. Tom Johnson, Vicar General, Br. John Johnston, former Superior General, the 2007 Midwest District Jubilarians, and on-going encouragement throughout the week by Br. James Gaffney, President of Lewis University, Br. Tom Lackey, Regional Director for Mission Formation, Br. Ed Phelan, Br. Michael Kadow, Br. Bede Baldry and over a dozen more Brothers.

Group leadership, mentoring, encouragement and abundant sharing of experiences by the 12 returning LVs.

High quality training sessions on Faith, Ministry, and Community Living along with skill development for bridging diversity, resolving conflict and achieving professional success.
Community bonding that developed in the group helped by a low/high ropes experience on their first full day together.

“To touch the hearts of youth is the greatest miracle you can perform and the one God asks of you.”
Saint John Baptist de La Salle

“Seeing all those chairs when I walked into the room before the volunteers arrived gave me a sense of incredulity that we had a number sufficient to fill the chairs. But we did! Great. It was a pleasure to meet the volunteers.”
Br. John Johnston, former Superior General

Commitment of 48 enthusiastic Lasallian Volunteers accompanied by the families of 7 local LVs, a half dozen Alums and many Brothers at the Closing Commissioning Ceremony

An Image for Orientation

The ropes course provided many opportunities to work together and jump into tough challenges.

Orientation successfully helped each LV make the jump into new ministry, a new community, a new neighborhood—a challenge not unlike struggling to the top of the 300 foot tower only to jump off into free fall until the zip line engaged, carrying the LV exhilaratingly  and safely back to earth.

The week helped all the LVs to bond with each other, the Brothers, Alums, and the LV Staff for a successful year of Lasallian ministry.
