Brother Thomas Johnson, Executive Director of Christian Brothers Conference, has announced the appointment of Alisa Macksey as the new Director of the Lasallian Volunteer Program beginning in July. Alisa has been the Associate Director of Lasallian Volunteers for the past four years.
Having grown up in California, Alisa attended Saint Mary’s College of California where she was President of the Student Senate during her Senior year. After college, she became a Lasallian Volunteer living and working in Kansas City where she worked with psychiatric patients as a part of Network. After her Lasallian Volunteer Service, Alisa served on the staff of LULAC National Educational Service Center in Kansas City. Alisa is presently working on a Master’s Degree at Gonzaga University.
In appointing Ms. Macksey, Brother Thomas stressed “that she comes to the position as a seasoned leader who has been a key player in the rapid growth of the program in numbers of volunteers, new sites and communities. She is a clear thinker and has the ability to deal with many situations that young people in ministry face. Alisa Macksey is strong leader imbued with Lasallian values.”
Ms. Macksey will replace David Kasievich who has worked for seven years, four of them as Director. During his tenure the number of volunteers has almost doubled, formation programs have intensified and new positions for recruitment and development have been instituted. One of Mr. Kasievich’s projects has been strategic planning for the program’s future.
Brother Thomas in thanking Dave for his years of leadership said “Dave has been a thorough, engaged and tireless leader of the Lasallian Volunteer Program. The program would not be where it is without the consistency and dynamism of his leadership. Dave will be a loss to the program and to Christian Brothers Conference.” |
