Speak with LV Recruiter/Representative (recruiters may be visiting your campus)
Request an information packet
Contact current/former volunteers with questions about the program
Visit volunteers at placement site and community (if possible)
Spend time in prayer, reflection, and conversation with those you trust regarding what you have learned about the LV program to discern whether you'd like to apply

Application Preparation
January - March
- Contact references and school to complete their parts of the application (give them plenty of time...and reminders)
- Complete personal information and essay sections of the application
- Meet with recruiter (who may be on your campus during this time) for in-depth conversation, and stay in touch via phone and email
Submit Application
Priority Deadline: March 15
Standard Deadline: April 1
Send completed application electronically and by mail to the LV office. Candidates who apply by the March 15 priority deadline will be contacted shortly thereafter to schedule an interview. Candidates who apply by the April 1 deadline will be contacted shortly thereafter to schedule an interview.
Interview
March - April
- Phone interviews with LV staff will last between 1 1/2 - 2 hours
Acceptance
April - May
- Letters of acceptance will be sent out approximately 2 weeks after your phone interview
- Accepted candidates are asked to respond to LV staff within one (1) week of receiving their letter with their decision whether or not to commit to the LV program
Placement/Site Visit
May - June
Placement Finalized
Service Commences July
All volunteers attend Orientation, usually occurring during the last week of July and taking place at one of the seven US Lasallian Colleges. Start dates vary by site, but all volunteers begin service shortly after Orientation. |
